Medication Management
At the Center for Personal Wellness, we understand that mental health treatment is not one-size-fits-all. While therapy is an essential tool for healing and growth, some individuals may also benefit from medication management to support their mental health. Our psychiatry services provide personalized, evidence-based medication treatment plans to help you feel your best and regain balance in your life.

What is Medication Management?
Medication management is a collaborative process that ensures the safe and effective use of psychiatric medications. Whether you are exploring medication for the first time or looking to optimize your current treatment plan, our provider takes a thoughtful, whole-person approach to your care. We believe in open, transparent conversations about your symptoms, goals, and concerns so we can tailor a plan that aligns with your unique needs.
Our Approach to Care
At the Center for Personal Wellness, we integrate compassion, collaboration, and expertise into every step of your care. We believe in a comprehensive, integrative approach to psychiatric treatment—one that goes beyond brief medication check-ins. Our provider takes the time to develop a deep understanding of your mental health needs, ensuring that medication management is just one piece of a broader, individualized treatment plan.
✔ Personalized – Your treatment is tailored to your unique symptoms, medical history, and preferences. We focus on finding the right balance of care that aligns with your needs and goals.
✔ Collaborative – We work closely with your therapist and other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive, whole-person approach to your well-being. Mental health care is most effective when providers communicate and coordinate.

✔ Empowering – We prioritize education and informed decision-making, so you feel confident and in control of your mental health journey. We take the time to discuss treatment options, answer your questions, and support you every step of the way.
✔ Stronger Client-Provider Relationships – We take the time to build meaningful connections, ensuring you feel heard, supported, and valued in your care.
✔ Whole-Person Wellness – Our approach considers not just medication, but also therapy, lifestyle factors, and overall mental well-being to create a balanced, sustainable treatment plan.
✔ Long-Term Mental Health Support – We focus on lasting progress, not just short-term symptom relief, to help you achieve stability and well-being over time.
✔ Thoughtful, Client-Centered Care – Your treatment is guided by your individual needs, goals, and preferences, ensuring a collaborative and empowering experience.
What to Expect
✔ Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (60 Minutes): A comprehensive assessment of your mental health history, symptoms, and treatment goals. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss options, potential benefits, and any concerns you may have.
✔ Follow-Up Appointments (30 Minutes): Regular check-ins to monitor progress, address side effects, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. These sessions include both medication management and brief psychotherapy, allowing time to discuss challenges, provide support, and incorporate therapeutic interventions when clinically appropriate.

✔ Personalized Support: We offer a range of care options to support your well-being. In addition to medication management, you may choose to integrate counseling and/or nutrition services as part of your treatment plan. Our collaborative approach allows you to customize your care based on your individual needs and goals.
In-Person + Telehealth Options
✔ We recognize that flexibility is key when it comes to mental health care. Our psychiatric provider offers both in-person and telehealth appointments, making it easier for you to access the support you need from the comfort of your home or in our welcoming office environment.

Erica Cook, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing care to adults (18 and older) in both an outpatient office setting and via Telehealth. In addition to my current role, I am pursuing a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certificate, which will allow me to integrate both medical and mental health treatment for my clients in the future. My goal is to help clients achieve their personal and mental health goals in a realistic and supportive way, using therapy and medication management when appropriate. I am excited to be part of the Center for Personal Wellness team, where collaboration between counselors, nutritionists, and myself ensures that clients receive comprehensive, well-rounded care.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Which Approach Might Fit Me the Best?Therapy/Counseling is designed to help you explore and heal the emotional and psychological reasons that prevent you from achieving your goals, as well as provide tools to effectively deal with common challenges such as anxiety, sadness, and trauma. It offers an in-depth, comprehensive look at every aspect of your life with a focus on improving your emotional well-being and helping you create healthy relationships and a healthy self-image. If you have more questions about therapy, we recommend just scheduling an intake session- there is no obligation to keep coming to therapy after the first session and the best way to know if it will work for you is to give it a try. In contrast, our coaching, groups, and workshops are solely focused on developing and implementing a strategic plan for successful change in a specific area of your life.
-
How Often and How Long Will We Meet?Consistency brings the best results. Most counseling clients come weekly. It’s best to schedule a set time each week. Committing to and prioritizing that time is ideal and equates to a better outcome. Occasionally, people attend therapy more often and may come twice a week for a period of time. Others may have longer less frequent sessions. Many reduce counseling frequency once things improve and attend every other week then monthly to maintain gains. This will be determined with your therapist. Your first appointment/intake session will be approximately 55-60 minutes. Regular therapy sessions are approximately 55-60 minutes.
-
How Much Does This Cost?We know that you, your well-being and your mental health are priceless. Deciding to take control of your health, whether physical or mental, is a commitment and investment. The return on investment (ROI) and value for therapy can be immeasurable as its goal is to improve your life, relationships, health, and well-being. What better person to invest in than YOURSELF and we promise to provide high quality and professional care! Check out our fees here.

Do You Take Insurance?Center for Personal Wellness is an insurance friendly practice and can help clients utilize both their in-network and out-of-network insurance. In-Network Benefits: For clients using one of the insurances below, we accept the contracted rate for that insurance. We are happy to help you verify your benefits and will file claims on your behalf. We are in-network with the following insurance/EAP companies: Anthem BCBS, Medical Mutual, Tricare, Medicare, Behavioral Health Services, Ulliance EAP, CuraLinc EAP, Wilson Health EAP, and Mercer Health EAP. Out of Network Benefits: Your counseling services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. We have partnered with Mentaya to help our clients save money on therapy by using their out of network insurance benefits. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year; however we absorb that 5% and cover it for our clients.
